Fertility Support

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine offers prospective mums and their partners a natural and holistic way to help address imbalances in the body that may be contributing to fertility issues.

There are many reasons why pregnancy may not be occurring naturally, and infertility is an emotional and demanding road. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can be helpful to assist with fatigue and stress, and along with diet, exercise and other healthy lifestyle practices, can help the body move toward healthy, optimal functioning.

In clinic, understanding and caring support will be provided to assist you in tracking your cycle, identifying ovulation and therefore, your optimum times to conceive.  Your treatments will aim to build and balance your body systems to assist you in your journey to maintain a healthy, viable pregnancy.

Traditional Chinese Medicine assesses patterns in the body in relation to the theories of Qi and Blood, Yin and Yang, and utilises Acupuncture to address identified deficiencies, blockages or stagnation, to help bring the body back to a state of flow, and ease the emotional stress which too often thwarts our best intentions.

ART and IVF Support

ART and IVF is a wonderful tool which offers hope to prospective parents when other options have been exhausted, however it can also be physically, emotionally and financially draining.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine can help build and balance the systems of the body, aiming to improve stress levels, sleep, pain, and many other physical symptoms that may interfere with the effectiveness of IVF and ART procedures.

There is continuing research about how acupuncture can assist with the effectiveness of IVF treatment, and many practitioners are recommending acupuncture as a supportive treatment in this process. Consult your treating practitioner/s about how acupuncture may be able to help you.

Acupuncture and Pregnancy Care

Pregnancy can be a wonderful experience, but it is also very demanding on the body. Acupuncture, along with massage and Moxibustion (heat therapy) can help provide relief for issues you may experience during pregnancy such as pain, stress and fatigue.

Acupuncture and acupressure combined with massage and moxibustion is also wonderful to help prepare the body for labour.

Tanya uses doTerra essential oils as a wonderful tool to calm the mind and soothe the body, to deepen your healing experience.

Tanya has received training in Spinning Babies techniques, which she is happy to incorporate into treatments upon request (an extra 30 minutes is recommended for this option). Spinning Babies focuses on techniques that help balance the pelvis, encourage soft and supple ligaments,  and a calm relaxed mind in the lead up to birth. Their ‘3 Sister’s of Balance’ – Rebozo (baby jiggling), forward-leaning inversion and side lying release (stretch) – are a really valuable addition to your labour toolkit for prelabour preparation of the body, as well as to take into the labour itself.

Tanya uses pregnancy cushions designed for mum’s-to-be so you can fully relax lying face down on the table. These cushions will comfortably accommodate ladies up to 37 weeks and often beyond, depending on the size of your bump.

Once your little bundle has made his or her entrance it can be a time of great joy, but also of great exhaustion and tumultuous emotions.

Pregnancy and birth are very taxing on a woman’s body, draining resources to sometimes leave you in a less than optimal state to tackle this adjustment period.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine may be of assistance in addressing stress and fatigue, as well as other common post-birth issues that can arise.
